The core commitments

  • Encryption. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
  • Your documents are not used to train any AI model. The documents you provide are used to help you with your case, not to train models.
  • You can delete your documents. You are able to delete your documents yourself.
  • Automatic deletion after dormancy. If a case goes quiet, its documents are automatically deleted after one year, so your data does not sit indefinitely.
  • Scrubbed error reporting. Technical error reports are scrubbed so that your document content and personal details are not included.

The purpose of these commitments is straightforward: the material you handle in a dispute is yours, and it should stay under your control. Portia is built so that using it does not mean giving up ownership of your information or feeding it into systems that outlast your need for it.
